Treatment Approaches
I am passionate about working with children and youth, but I also enjoy working with college age students, adults, and families. Marilyn integrates several theories and treatment approaches into her counseling practice, but primarily uses a cognitive behavior approach in therapy utilizing (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Skills and (RET) Rational Emotional Behavioral Therapy, for adolescents and adults who struggle with emotional regulation and behaviors. Marilyn is Gottman trained level 1-2 to work with couples and families. Marilyn works to teach her clients how their lives can be transformed by identifying and changing self-defeating thinking and learning new problem solving skills.

My passion is to teach people through therapeutic techniques to transform their lives to be their best selves. I recently retired after over 30 years of service in education. I have one daughter and we love to travel. Our goal is to travel to all 50 states. I was recently widowed in 2020 and have a heart for widows. I have a great passion for God’s word and have been blessed with a teaching ministry for over 30 years.  During my ministry experience I have worked closely with Pastoral leadership and with congregants in ministry and she is available to provide biblical based counseling for clients that prefer a Christ-centered approach to counseling.  Marilyn believes that God is the ULTIMATE source in our journey towards healing when we follow HIS Guidance.
